Debate Round Prep Overview
What should I look for when preparing a debate round?
- Be sure you are matching the correct round.
- Double check when you should start power matching based on the number of teams in that style of debate.
- After matching, check for reasonableness in the matches by reviewing any repeats and promos/sandbags. If there is a bye, make sure it has been assigned to a team in the lowest win-loss bracket unless unavoidable.
- Check all matches for proper side balance.
- Make sure Build Ballots from this Match creates ballots that appear to have the right number of matches and (for Value debate) that flights are well-balanced.
- Be sure to release ballots to the Ballot Admin team on time.
- Prepare Wall postings for in-person tournaments and have ready for the Communications Lead no later than 30 minutes before the scheduled start of the round.
