What to Expect at a Tournament
Preparation: Checklist
Here is a helpful checklist:
- Review policies as needed, especially the Parent and Designated Adult Policy, Affiliate Safety Requirement, Illness Policy, and Dress Code Policy.
- Ensure competitors have proper tournament attire ready to wear (see Dress Code Policy).
- Check that participating parents or designated adults have devices ready to judge.
- Ensure all participating adults have
- Viewed the Parent Judging Video 🖥️ and updated the Child Safety toggles in the Family Members section of MyPlace.
- Viewed the
- Completed the Liability Release Waiver.
- Be sure competitors have taken steps to prepare necessary devices for Digital Presentation, Extemp, or for all events in online tournaments.
- Be sure timepieces are ready with backup batteries for self-timing all events.
And for in-person tournaments:
- Have a food plan ready (see meal explanation for in-person tournaments).
- Refillable water bottles, coffee mugs, umbrellas, etc.
- Apologetics boxes if entered in event.
- Extemp 3x5 cards if entered in event.
- Biblical Presentation visual aid(s) if entered in the event.
- Blank paper for Impromptu if desired and entered in event.
